Ferrara, city of the Renaissance, and its Po Delta
From the Renaissance city, with its perfectly preserved historic centre, to the evocative Po Delta, an extraordinary ecosystem to explore, to the wonders of the Delizie Estensi, ancient residences surrounded by greenery.
Ferrara and the Po Delta share a unique cultural and environmental identity that is recognised internationally.
The historic centre of the city, an exceptional example of a Renaissance city, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1995. This recognition of the cultural landscape of the Po Delta in 1999, a harmonious fusion of nature and human intervention, bears witness to centuries of coexistence between water, land and civilisation.
In addition to this prestigious protection, it has also been recognised as a UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve, underlining the area's commitment to sustainable development based on a balance between local communities, biodiversity and conscious tourism promotion.
Visiting Ferrara and the Po Delta means immersing yourself in a living ecosystem, where culture and nature interact in every corner, inviting you to enjoy an authentic travel experience at a “natural pace”.
