From the wild charm of the Po Delta Park to the green oases that dot the Ferrara area, the natural areas offer spectacular scenery to explore in every season. Walk along paths surrounded by biodiversity, spot flamingos and other rare species, or relax along the banks of rivers and in coastal pine forests. Here, nature takes centre stage, ready to offer you authentic experiences including outdoor sports, regenerating silence and breathtaking views.

The province of Ferrara hosts four of the six stations of the Po Delta Park, an environmental and cultural heritage of remarkable significance. This includes the Comacchio Lagoons with its charming historic center, Mesola with its forest, Goro and the Volano Nature Reserve, where the river meets the sea, creating a unique, vital ecosystem, and finally, the freshwater lagoons of Campotto di Argenta. Each station reveals a different facet of the Delta, blending water, land, and sky, offering nature trails, birdwatching opportunities, and genuine moments of connection with nature.

The Ferrara area has been designated as a UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve. Since 9 June 2015, a large part of the Ferrara area has received two of UNESCO’s highest recognitions at the same time. This remarkable achievement highlights the cultural, landscape and economic value of the region.
