This itinerary is packed with stops at beaches, art galleries, forests, and natural sites located in the most picturesque areas of the Po Delta Park. From south to north, you will explore the Comacchio lagoons, the famous wetlands where eels and thousands of bird species live, including the stunning pink flamingos. Inland, you can admire the historic center of Comacchio, crisscrossed by canals, with the imposing Trepponti and its museums. On the coast, thanks to the new cycle paths, you can cross Lidi di Comacchio, seven seaside resorts ideal for summer vacations. After passing Lido di Volano with its thick pine forest and the Po Nature Reserve, you reach the small Oasi di Canneviè-Porticino and Taglio della Falce, where you can take the cycle and pedestrian path in Gran Bosco della Mesola for a pleasant ride in the shade of holm oaks and along the coastal dunes of Sacca di Goro.
Technical characteristics: length 55.87 km
Difficulty suitable for everyone, flat route mainly on secondary roads with little traffic. Some sections on dedicated cycle paths, part of which (FE219 and FE301) have a dirt surface.
The 1.5 km FE302 cycle path opened in Gran Bosco della Mesola Nature Reserve, which directly connects Volano and Lido di Volano with Porto di Goro: delimited by two special gates (located at Taglio della Falce and Goara) designed to prevent the escape of deer and fallow deer that live freely in the woods, this cyclepath runs between the last foothills of the Bosco della Mesola and the coastal area of Sacca di Goro
INFO: access to the trail, via the opening and closing of the gates, is possible every day from March 1 to October 31 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
