
Astronomical observatory

Open from April to September.
Open by reservation only, for groups and with a minimum of 10 days' notice.
The observatory is located within the Anse Vallive Natural Oasis in Ostellato, where various initiatives dedicated to stars and astronomy take place.
It consists of an adjustable metal dome containing a Newton D.450 mm f\4.5 reflecting telescope and a D.150 mm f\15 achromatic refracting telescope. Observations include the Moon, the planets of the solar system, stars, objects in our galaxy (such as star clusters, nebulae, etc.) and some of the extra-galactic objects in the universe that can be observed with amateur equipment.
How to get there
By car: A13 motorway, Ferrara Sud exit; Ferrara-Portogaribaldi motorway link road, Ostellato exit, continue along Via Argine Mezzano (signs for “Valli di Ostellato”) to the observatory.
By train: Bologna-Ferrara-Codigoro (FS) line, Ostellato station.
By bus: Tper 331 suburban line; Ferrara-Ostellato.
