Pieve di San Venanzio

The Romantic church of S. Maria di Savonuzzo, known as S. Venanzio, was built in 1344 over a ridge of an ancient riverbed.

It was built by Giovanni da Saletta's will, lord of this area, as written on the ston on the main facade. He wanted to add a place to cure the souls on his land. After many acquisitions, in 1983 the church was donated to the Municipality of Copparo and to Ferrariae Decus. Inside the church there are some 14th century frescos dedicated to the life of the Virgin Mary.
