Migliarino
The name Migliarino seems to derive from the historical presence in this area of millet crops, a cereal that was once very common in the rural areas of the Po River valley.
This small town in the province of Ferrara stands out for its very distinctive urban planning and architecture, the result of the transformation that took place at the end of the 19th century, when Migliarino became a municipal centre.
At that time, every point of access to the town, including the river, was enhanced with the construction of neo-gothic buildings, giving the town an almost fairy-tale appearance, similar to a fortress. These structures, still well preserved today, give Migliarino a charming and unique atmosphere among the small towns of Ferrara.
