Home of the current Goro Library

In the early 1900s, a central district for the future town of Goro began to take shape around the village church. At the same time, Via Cesare Battisti came into being, replacing the previous Via delle Chiaviche. In this context, one of the main buildings in the district began to take on a different identity, increasingly devoted to social needs.

In 1911, the structure of what would become known as the Casa del Popolo was consolidated, becoming the property of the League for the Improvement of Workers and Fishermen during those years.

The building had two main parts, one used as the Casa del Popolo, which hosted commercial, trade union, and political activities, and a second part used as a theater, where the Teatrìn di Goro was built. Until the 1950s, the latter hosted village festivals, events, and shows for the Goro community.
