Historic building, recognized among the historic theaters of Emilia Romagna.

Originally, this building had two rooms, used as a pasta factory. Shortly after its purchase by the Lega di Miglioramento (League for the Improvement), it changed its appearance to become more functional to its social function as a theater.

Thus, a space with a single hall was created, to which a loggia and gallery were added.

On the proscenium arch, there is a phrase for the community: “Art educates people”.

In 1921, during a rally held in front of the Casa del Popolo, the theater was targeted by a squadron of fascists from Mesola, who entered and set it on fire, lighting a pyre with the furnishings. In 1926, the first monument in Goro was erected on that spot.

Despite the extensive damage suffered by the theater in the fire, it was not abandoned but underwent a period of improvement, with the structure being upgraded and restored, changing from wood to concrete and brick.

The theater hosted many companies and shows, continuing to consolidate the love of art and music in the town.

A few years later, the Casa del Popolo with its adjoining Teatrìn became the property of the National Fascist Federation of Fish Workers, which received a rental fee equal to 20% of the takings for both theatrical performances and film screenings.
